A Bit About Me
I remember looking out the glass window of my mother's car as a child. Watching the other kids play in the grassy field, I was curiously wondering what they were thinking about and how it differed from my own thoughts. What were their dreams, their ambitions? I later learned this memory was tied to Theory of Mind when I majored in my favorite subject, Psychology, at UC Berkeley.
I continued to explore my fascination with deeply understanding people as I started my career in Information Technology (IT) at Apple and Amazon Web Services. There was no better place to learn how people truly interpret and use technology in disparate ways, as their mental model often may not match the designer's intended one. Instead of resolving usability problems after the fact, I wanted to play an integral part in the initial design and research process— to comprehend and combat the most complex user issues, the edge cases and in between so that the technological landscape is more inclusive, accessible and equitable.
My experience in IT and my background in psychology has helped shape my unique perspective in HCI and UX. I enjoy getting my hands dirty in mixed methods UX Research, and hope to continue learning from the talented community.
